Senior Full Stack Engineer — React Native

Role Overview

Own the Patrika mobile apps end to end — from the Kotlin and Swift native layer up to the React Native surface that millions of readers open every morning. This is a fullstack mobile role: React Native and Expo for product features, native modules whenever the platform demands it, payments on both stores, deep links from WhatsApp and the web, and the release train itself.

What You'll Work On

• Build and own features across the Patrika iOS and Android apps in React Native and Expo, dropping into Kotlin and Swift whenever the platform demands it.
• Write native modules and bridge third-party SDKs — payments, notifications, media, analytics, ads — so the JavaScript layer stays clean and testable.
• Own the performance budget: cold start, list scrolling, memory ceilings, bundle size and crash-free sessions, on low-end devices as much as flagships.
• Ship in-app payment and subscription flows on both stores, and keep them compliant as Google and Apple change their policies.
• Make sure a link tapped anywhere — a WhatsApp forward, a Google result, an email — opens exactly the right screen in the app.
• Build for readers on unreliable networks: offline reading, resumable downloads, optimistic UI and honest failure states.
• Raise the UI bar — accessible, platform-native in feel, consistent with the design system, and correct in Devanagari.
• Own the release train: staged rollouts, over-the-air updates, crash triage and the decision to roll back.
• Review code, write the occasional design proposal, and raise the engineering standard of everyone around you.

Who Is Right for This Role

• 5–8 years building mobile apps, including at least 3 years of hands-on React Native in production.
• Has written and shipped native code in both Kotlin and Swift — not only JavaScript.
• Has built custom native modules, or bridged a third-party native SDK into React Native (classic bridge, or TurboModules / JSI on the New Architecture).
• Can name an app they worked on at real scale, its monthly active users, and the part they personally owned.
• Has implemented in-app payments on both stores — Google Play Billing and Apple StoreKit / IAP.
• Writes TypeScript properly: strict mode, real types, no escape hatches everywhere.
• Has owned a production release process — signing, staged rollout, crash triage, rollback.
• Can join immediately (0–15 days).

Who Isn't a Fit

• React Native only, with no shipped Kotlin and Swift native code.
• Has never built a custom native module or bridged a third-party native SDK.
• Cannot name a production app at real scale and the part they personally owned.
• Has not implemented in-app payments on both Play Billing and StoreKit / IAP.
• Has not owned a production release process (signing, staged rollout, crash triage, rollback).
• Notice period longer than 15 days.
