Full Stack Senior Engineer (React Native)

Role Overview

Patrika is a high-traffic, mobile-first Hindi news publisher. The app is the owned-habit surface — not a reprint of the website. This role is fullstack, but the weight sits on React Native with real iOS depth: architecture, performance, native modules, payments, and the App Store release cycle. You still work against the same NestJS/WordPress APIs the web team uses. The job is to make the app stay fast and stable when breaking news hits, and to own features through to a production store release.

What You'll Work On

• Architect and build React Native features with clean separation of concerns
• iOS native modules and custom UI (Swift / Objective-C) where the bridge is not enough
• iOS payment / IAP / subscription flows, including App Store compliance
• Release lifecycle: signing, TestFlight, App Store submission, production deploys
• Performance: 60fps, startup time, bundle size, lists, images, memory
• Push, deep links, offline-first sync, and analytics on the app
• Work with NestJS BFFs and headless CMS payloads that also serve the website

Who Is Right for This Role

• Strong React Native, React, and TypeScript in production
• Solid iOS platform knowledge and native Swift (or Objective-C) — not RN-only
• Has owned App Store releases, CI/CD, code signing, and production monitoring
• Has diagnosed iOS payment / gateway / IAP issues in production
• Can take a feature from idea to store release with minimal hand-holding
• Comfortable consuming REST/BFF APIs shared with web, including CMS-driven content

Who Isn't a Fit

• React Native only, with no native iOS depth and no history of writing Swift/Obj-C modules
• Has never owned an App Store release cycle (signing, TestFlight, review, production)
• Has not worked on payments, subscriptions, or production crash/performance telemetry
• Treats the app as a thin wrapper around the website rather than a native product

How You'll Work

• This is a remote contract role.
• Works with product, backend, QA, and editorial on breaking-news and subscription flows.
