Deputy Tech Lead - Onsite - Jaipur

We're building a high-velocity, mobile-first news platform on a modern stack (Next.js, NestJS, React Native, MongoDB, AWS) — and we need a Deputy Tech Lead who can keep the engine running clean and fast. You'll sit right below the Tech Lead, owning code quality, developer productivity, system performance, and team mentorship as a day-to-day operator.

What You'll Do:

• Break down complex PRDs into granular technical tasks, resolve developer blockers fast, and keep 90% of sprint commitments on track
• Own code reviews for all critical modules, enforce 80%+ test coverage, and document coding standards across the monorepo
• Author technical design docs, maintain API contract integrity (OpenAPI/Swagger), and prevent architectural drift between design and implementation
• Optimize MongoDB pipelines, implement Redis + CDN caching, and tune NestJS APIs to handle 5x traffic spikes with p95 latency under 200ms
• Support CI/CD pipelines (GitHub Actions/AWS), manage environment parity (Dev/Staging/Prod), and lead Post-Mortem RCAs for production incidents
• Run weekly 1:1 mentoring sessions and Lunch & Learn talks to actively grow junior and mid-level engineers

You're a Fit If You:

• Are deeply hands-on with TypeScript, NestJS, Next.js, and React Native
• Have optimized databases (MongoDB aggregations, indexing, Redis caching) for high-read, high-traffic environments
• Can review code the way a senior should — rigorous, constructive, and standards-driven
• Know when to write perfect code and when to ship
